Fresh Oil & Gathering Pots - thought for November 4, 2011
The producer, Chrystal, is gathering her pots to fill up with new wine, new oil. This is a figurative term for fresh filling from Holy Spirit, for new inspiration, and heavenly provision! She has had a new theme on her heart for some time now, and, even this week, asked for confirmation from the Lord if she should continue in it, and received 3 confirmations that day, the most special one being from her husband, who had no idea about her prayer. Isn't God wonderful?
With regard to the progress of publicly publishing A Place of Many Rivers, the producer and filmmaker are in limbo while awaiting the absolute final permission from the producer of Laura Rinehart's music, which is used throughout of the film. Please pray he responds with favor, and soon!

A Place of Many Rivers - The Film - by James Desmarais
After putting in countless hours, the film has almost reached its completion (April 2011). The director of filming and editing (James Desmarais) has sent several chapters of the film to the theatre producer (Chrystal Seutter McClellan) and they are completely delighted and so very excited to soon be making it available to the public. Please stand by for unveiling date via Youtube, and for a possible tour to a location near you! Please leave a message at the bottom of this webpage if you would like information on bringing A Place of Many Rivers - The Film to your church, school or community centre for a presentation. We are very seriously considering a tour and would appreciate public input! We will also be submitting the film to a film contest -- we'll release further details as they come along!
Post-Fringe thought from Producer
The Fringe is done for the year - the project was a success in all things considered. The producer would like to thank the many wonderful, talented and courageous people who leapt on board. And to those people who spoke into and prayed into the project, she is most grateful for and extends huge thanks. She would also like to personally thank each audience member for attending, and hopes to someday have a conversation about your experience. Art is meant to be shared.
What's next? The producer isn't sure, but she would be very excited to create more collaborative projects and follow the Lord's leading in this. She found an outlet for her voice, and with her heavenly Father guiding her forward, is open to experiencing what He has in store for her life!

What the space looked like 15 minutes prior to the audience walking in & 15 minutes after they left!
This photo is of the venue that we performed in. It was in a school gym that was wonderfully transformed into a theatre space thanks to all the blacks, rigging and the lights. The producer LOVED the space the first time she walked into it. It couldn't have been a better space for the show, and allowed for full movement for the dancer, and for the minimal set to disappear in. A key element of the theatre experience is the lighting, and this was certainly true with this venue and show.
So that you can better understand the process of the Fringe for the performers, here is a step-by-step of what happened prior to each performance of every show at the Fringe and most specifically A Place of Many Rivers:
Each Fringe show is given a time slot for their show on a certain day. Let's say the day is Monday, the time 1:00pm.
12:15 the cast meets at the venue (hopefully having found parking nearby!)
12:30 the venue technicians open the door to the cast to let them enter the building (the patrons are standing around with them, outside the venue, chatting/staring/hugging/engaging...)
12:30 cast enters venue and immediately begins to gather the set bits from the storage area and sets up the set, techs do sound checks with cast and stage manager encourages cast to get into costume and do warm ups
12:44 pre-show music starts playing
12:45 the house opens (doors open to the patrons to find their seats)
1:00 loudspeaker comes on saying Welcome to the Edmonton International Fringe....turn off your cellphones... house lights dim and
1:01 Show starts! (lights come up DSL and Josh enters USL and sits at drum and begins playing......)
1:45 Show ends.
1:46 House lights come up and cast re-enters stage and begins to strike the set. Stage manager aids. Cast engages audience members who approach them with well-wishes and appreciation.
1:50 Cast disappears backstage to change out of costumes, breathe and laugh/hug/cheer!
1:55 Cast thanks the technicians and says See you next show and exits the venue.
2:00pm standing outside venue, reviewing show/getting notes from Stage Manager and figuring out what to do post-show (or, in the case of the final show, removing the set from the venue and loading it into the producer's truck).
Next show loads in for their performance, and on it goes. The Fringe Theatre staff have done an incredible job of keeping a many cogged wheel running smoothly. No small task!
Please note that it takes a couple of hours for the adrenaline rush to subside after a performance. This is why performers often go out after a show - they are really on quite the natural high, and want to share that loveliness with friends and fun!
Which seat belongs to you (where the audience got to sit!)
Venue seated 170 quite comfortably.
Sound and light technicians along with the stage manager, are located in the booth at the top of the risers.

The filming of A Place of Many Rivers
Film maker: James Desmarais
Location: Rutherford Circle
Artist: Jesse Lynn Anderson
As you may know, A Place of Many Rivers was not only a theatre production, but also being filmed for wider distribution and creative outlets. The film producer is James Desmarais, whom the theatre producer came into contact with, thanks to her neighbour Randy, who happened to get her mail one day and while delivering it to her, in conversation found out she was looking for a filmmaker and miraculously he had just met one at his church. God provided a gorgeous opportunity for many dreams through this entire project and will continue to use His children for His plans.
James filmed three of the 6 theatre performances as well as meeting the cast and crew at rehearsals and locations around Edmonton for an out-of-the-theatre portrayal of the all the parts of the show. This is so very exciting! When the producer has more details re the film she will definitely post them. If you are interested in this portion please leave a note here on the website and she will respond to you.

Michelle Zerbin
Marketing Assistant and Vocals and Music Composition Element
A baby to the theatre experience, she has already caught the stage bug! As an elementary music teacher, she has spent hours honing her skills as an aspiring singer/ songwriter, and sees children as the ultimate audience. “They’re brutally honest!” Her tools of the trade range from the piano to the ukulele, the saxophone and most recently the guitar. Michelle has written and directed several musicals and can be seen performing at venues throughout the city. “Music transcends language barriers and has an ability to touch places in the human psyche that I would never be able to reach through any other method. It‘s powerful!”
